Shockoe Slip along the river is a renovated part of town occupied by trendy restaurants. In downtown Richmond old tobacco warehouses along the River were also converted into shops and restaurants.
Richmond main attractions include: Valentine Museum dedicated to Richmond history, Museum of the Confederacy, the White House of Confederacy, the State Capitol designed by Thomas Jefferson, the Govenors Mansion, the Federal Reserve Building and State and Federal offices.
